Tesco requests extra space for Home Delivery

Tesco have had many more requests for home shopping deliveries as well as Click and Collect during the Coronavirus outbreak. They wish to be able to expand the number of delivery slots and click and collect slots but have a problem of not enough storage space to store the additional customer orders they are picking.

Wokingham Scouts were asked if they could help. Keith, the District Quartermaster worked with Tesco to find a solution.

Sunday 19th April saw a group of six scouters erect a large marquee on the car park of the Tesco´s Wokingham store. Thanks to Graham, Keith and Zac of 1st Wokingham, Roger from Wokingham District Exec and Harry and Lewis from Wokingham Explorers.

The tent will be joined by a refrigerated container to meet the new storage needs.

For the curious, we used Tesco green plastic crates full of brick pavers as tents pegs due to the tent being pitched on tarmac.
