Here are some ideas on how to get hold of a uniform for your young person.

This is not an exclusive list so if you have an idea you’d like to share with everyone else trying to stretch those pounds a little further, why not drop us an email

There is also information on where those Badges should be sewn

Many groups run a second hand centre where you can buy a perfectly good second hand article that someone else has grown out of. Best to ask a leader.

Some Scout Districts run a District Shop. Wokingham does not, but here are the addresses and opening times of nearby ones:

Reading Central - Reading Scout & Guide Shop, 163 Northcourt Avenue, Reading. RG2 7HG

This shop has its own web site, so to see their opening hours not to mention special offers and to help find the shop, click here.

Loddon - Grounds of Rivermead School, Loddon Bridge Road, Woodley.

This shop has it's own web page at the Loddon District Web Site, so to see their opening times, click on the link.

If you mention the name of your Scout Group, Loddon shop will give a rebate directly to that group.

SE Berks - District HQ, Coopers Hill Y&C Centre, Crowthorne Road North, Bracknell.

Mondays 19:30 - 21:00 during term time.

In addition some local shops stock items of uniform, but may not know the correct uniform for your group.

For Example the National Schoolwear Centres Shop in Crossway, Bracknell stocks uniform for Beavers, Cubs & Scouts.

Outdoors is the brand name for Scout Shops Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Scout Association and sells a wide range of products relating to Scouting including uniform and equipment and so is well worth a visit if you're looking for a gift for an enthusiastic young person.

Badges are only bought by leaders who may get them from the District Badge Secretary whose contact information may be found in the Scout District Directory.

Of course Cubs & Scouts should be able to sew on their own badges, but may need some help and guidance.

To find out where badges should go, try these links to the Scoutbase web site:

Enlarged uniform diagrams like this Cub one can be downloaded from the section links on the left.
Neckers
You'll see a number of differently coloured and patterned neckers. Generally, each is specific to a particular Scout Group in our District, but there are some exceptions:

1st Emmbrook

1st Finchampstead

1st Swallowfield 1st Winnersh
1st Wokingham 3rd Wokingham
4th Wokingham 1st Woosehill
Explorer Scouts Scout Fellowship
Gilwell Scarf

A Fully Trained Leader

Of course, if you go to a County Event, you will see folk from Groups in other Districts wearing "your" necker! So some Groups wear a diamond shaped badge on the point of their necker.

1st Finchampstead 1st Woosehill
3rd Wokingham
